Congratulations on your great achievement! We want to ensure your commencement ceremony is a great experience and memory for both you and your guests. For this reason we would like to recommend that you inform your guests that when leaving campus they avoid accessing the 405 Freeway from 7th Street because of construction. Alternative routes are both Palo Verde Avenue and Bellflower Boulevard, from which both the 405 North and South can be accessed.

Because of the large number of graduates at the ceremonies, we ask that each student limit the number of guests to 10 or under so that all attendees have a pleasant experience.

Where can I park for Commencement?

Graduates and their guests may park for free during Commencement in all student lots; Parking Lots: 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, or Parking Structures I, II, or III.

Will the carpool spaces and meters be available for general parking?

Yes, complimentary for Commencement.

Do my guests and I have to pay to park at any of these places?

Where do I board the free shuttle service?

What advice can I give my guests after parking their cars?

If you’re parking near a roadway, you may not see immediate sidewalks. This was purposely designed to keep pedestrians away from busy streets. From the parking lots, walk along the thoroughfare edges, then go to the nearest intersection and follow the pedestrian sidewalk. Do not walk on the campus roadways and please do not jay-walk across. (The ceremonies will take place on upper campus in the Central Quad.)

Commencement Parking Information

Go the Parking Office in Lot 15 during the week. We are open 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We close at 5 p.m. on Fridays.

Visitor Information Center

Go to the drive-through Visitor Information Center (off Bellflower entrance), which is open every day, including weekends. The Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
