Kalie Sabajo

Kalie What is your Major?
Music Education! The best.
What year are you?
2nd year transfer (So, a senior? Though I have another year left.)
What do you want to do after you graduate?
Grad school (Hopefully in Massachusetts. I need to be near my Red Sox), followed by either a doctorate program or teaching band somewhere. Preferably at a high school or university.
How long have you been shooting?
Almost 9 years now! Daaaaaang.
How did you get interested in archery?
We took an archery course during 8th grade PE at my middle school. My friend‘s dad gave the demonstration and after that I asked him if i could join the local club. I started doing JOAD and now here I am!
If you named your bow, what is your bow‘s name and why did you name it that?
My old bow was named after Lars from the movie Heavyweights, but now that I‘ve gotten my new bow, I can‘t think of a name for it. Kind of unfortunate. Nothing is as good as Lars. OH MY GOD, I JUST THOUGHT OF IT. STERLING. YES. THAT‘S PERFECT. (See favorite cartoon character)
What is your secret talent?
I am the Green Hornet and Hannah is my Kato. Together we fight crime as criminals and wreak havoc with our awesome car. And gas gun.
Do you have any good scar or bone breaking stories?
I‘ve broken my nose six times. Mostly from softball/baseball, other stories can‘t be told. I‘ve broken my wrist once from skateboarding, my arm once (hairline fracture, not too bad) from being hit by a car, my finger by slamming it in my car door, my cheekbone by (no joke) closing my front door at home. It hit my foot and bounced back into my face. 3 ribs, 3 toes, and a dislocated knee from falling down a mountain aaaaand I think that's it.
If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
A green hornet, obviously.
What‘s your favorite cartoon/ fictional/ anime character, and why?
Sterling Archer. DAYYYNNNJA ZONE.
Are you a morning or night person?
Night person by choice but school forces that whole morning thing to happen.
What was your favorite food as a child? Do you eat it now?
Bologna sandwiches with potato chips. And no, I don‘t. But I thought about making one not too long ago. I never did though. Also, pizza. I definitely still eat that.
What‘s the worst thing you did as a little kid?
I tried to steal a piece of butterscotch from the grocery store. My mom saw it and made me put it back. The end.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go and why?
Everywhere. Everywhereeeee. Why? Because it would be AWESOME.
When you were little, who was your favorite super hero and why?
Batman. Hands down. Why wouldn‘t he be my favorite? All these kids and Spiderman. PSH.
What states and countries have you visited and lived in?
I have lived in Nevada, Michigan, and California. I have visited those states previously mentioned along with, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Texas, and Illinois. No countries yet. Someday!
Have you ever been told you look like someone famous? Who?
No. Oh wait, the younger version of me looks like Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine.
What past era in History would you want to live in? Why?
Probably the 1940s. My love of jazz would have kept me happy back then. And think of all the great people I could have seen and performed with.
