Japanese Learning Session
Thursday, 3:00 - 4:00pm @ USU303

Purpose
  1. Providing our tutorials to students who are taking Japanese class.
  2. Giving an opportunity to learn Japanese conversation for students who are not taking Japanese class but interested in Japan.

Goal
  1. Our Japanese class tutorials will help students achieve a good grade.
  2. Our conversation tutorials will help students get used to Japanese language and culture.

Private Tutoring:
We provide one-to-one tutoring sessions for those who cannot make the regular J.L.S. Session, or those who need more assistance. To sign up for the one-to-one session, students should contact the JLS coordinator(s) by email or use the online sign up form. The Private tutoring lasts for one hour, per session. An appointment must be made at least one week in advance.


Tutors Wanted:
Japanese tutoring can be excellent volunteer experience! You can improve your résumE especially for those without any prior working experiences.We welcome students who would like to become a Japanese tutor!!

Japanese Pronunciation:
All consonants are pronuounced as in English.
Vowels are soft and similar to spanish:

'a'=[ah]
'i'=[ee]
'u'=[oo]
'e'=[eh]
'o'=[oh]

Double vowels indicate a long vowel (pronounced twise as long as short vowel).
