ATI Timeline

2006-07: Planning and Evaluation

The focus of this first year is on planning, policy and procedures development, communication and training. Initial implementation begins during the second half of the year.

2007-08: Implementation

Full implementation of campus plans begins, with the goal of integrating accessibility at the design stage of software, web, course development and business and instructional practices.

September 2007 Make PowerPoint presentations to various campus constituencies to provide orientation about the Accessible Technology Initiative. Groups include President’s Cabinet, Academic Senate, Staff Council, Associated Students Senate, Senior Management Council, Board of Governors, associate dean, department chairs, Student Services Managers Group.

  • Ensure that all new administrative websites, web applications and web content conform to baseline accessibility standards. (Web Accessibility Subcommittee)
  • Incorporate 508 into E&IT purchases, except credit card purchase. (Procurement Subcommittee)

During the third year, the campus will assess the process to determine the outcomes achieved and the effectiveness of plan implementation. Based on assessment results, strategies and actions will be adjusted as necessary.
