The California State University, Long Beach Upward Bound Youth Development program proposes to provide a combination of work-based and academic enrichment for twenty-five 14-18 year old youth who have been identified with employment and/or postsecondary barriers. Participants will be placed at worksites in departments of CSULB and community programs in partnership with Upward Bound in the greater Long Beach Area. Participants will be place according to individual interest, surveys and worksite availability. Participants will be required to sign a contract delineating their responsibilities and 12-month commitment.
