Director, Upward Bound Program
Education:
Phillip Humphreys obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, a Master of Arts in Social Science at Humboldt State University and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne.
Because of his commitment to meeting the needs of first-generation, low-income, under-represented students, Phillip Humphreys has served in various positions throughout his professional career in student services. Currently, the Director of Upward Bound, he has also served as the Assistant Director/Counselor of EOP and Coordinator of the Summer Bridge program at CSULB. He serves as part of the management team, which is composed of various state and federal programs, including Educational Opportunity Program, Student Support Services, Upward Bound, EIS/Talent Search, McNair Scholars and CAMP. Overall, these programs serve more than 4,000 students.
