Nutrition Counseling:

Peer Nutrition Counseling will begin February 24, 2014!

Meet with a peer nutrition counselor who will tailor a one-hour, free session to your needs.

Visit the Health Resource Center (HRC) or call (562) 985-4609 for more information.

To make an appointment, complete the Confidential Intake Form and submit it to the HRC. You can either complete the form electronically and print a hard copy to bring to the HRC or print a hard copy of the form and complete it by hand. Once we receive your completed Confidential Intake Form, we can book the appointment for you.

You can also meet with a nutrition counselor at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) in the Beach Balance office, located on the second floor.   • How do I make an appointment?

    To make an appointment, complete the Confidential Intake Form online and submit it to the HRC.   • How soon can I get an appointment?

    The Nutrition Counseling program is offered every semester, from March to May, and October to December.

 

  • Where is the nutrition counseling program?

    There are two locations for nutrition counseling:
  • 1. The Health Resource Center in the Student Health Services, room 268.
  • 2. Beach Balance in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center

 

  • How much does it cost?

    It's free for CSULB students.

 

  • Who are the nutrition counselors?

    Senior and graduate level students from the CSULB Nutrition and Dietetics program.

 

  • Is nutrition counseling only for students that want to lose weight?

    Not at all. The nutrition counselors can help you with whatever dietary concerns you may have.  They can help develop a healthy eating plan that will fit your particular health needs and lifestyle. Learn more about Nutrition and Weight.

 

  • If I have an eating disorder, can I attend the nutrition counseling program?

    It is beyond the scope of practice for our peer nutrition counselors to provide nutrition counseling to clients with eating disorders.
