Mandatory Freshman Advising: EOP Mandatory Freshman Advising (MFA) is a two-semester advising and registration process for first time freshmen. The EOP MFA process begins with a one hour in-class presentation in EOP 100 during fall semester. Students are advised on the following: math and English prebaccalaureate courses, general education, lower division major requirements and Executive Order 665, which informs students of the remediation requirements of the CSU. The goal of Mandatory Freshman Advising is to ensure that students have an appropriate schedule that includes remediation or general education courses in math and English. Students select from a wide variety courses in consultation with their EOP caseload advisors. The tables below illustrates the distribution of courses by major. It is important that caseload advisors advise students correctly. For example, some majors require a path that includes MAPB 1 and MAPB 7. The information presented below confirms that students are moving to the next level or remediation or general education.
