EOP FAFSA workshops are designed to help students successfully complete the on-line application. In February 2008, EOP conducted eight workshops attended by 217 students. Workshop themes focused on navigating the on-line form, making accurate decisions when completing the application, and identifying changes or decreases in income or tax status. Participants then completed a brief evaluation form. Results were as follows:

These findings reveal that workshop presentations helped students use the on-line FAFSA application correctly and decreased their dependence on the CSULB financial aid office. In addition, the workshops reduced the number of FAFSA questions students typically had and allowed the EOP financial aid counselor to concentrate on immediate student concerns.
