College Beat TV is a student production that informs students about issues affecting the campus community by creating a level of awareness on a variety of topics by presenting them in an entertaining, appropriate and innovative manner. College Beat produces "Beach Week" weekly, produces a 30 minute show once a month as well as produces a variety of media videos for ASI and the campus community.
College Beat can be seen on the University Channel 18, the Residential Halls 3, the University Student Union, and on Long Beach Charter Cable.
College Beat was established in 1999 and is funded through the University Student Union. It serves as a learning laboratory for students to become acclimated with the television industry and supplement their coursework. All majors are welcome to join College Beat.
All current students are invited to be a volunteer or intern for College Beat. Applications are available online and at the College Beat office. Internships are available in the areas of public relations, marketing, research, writing, talent recruitment and in studio production. Internship credit is available through academic departments and the Career Development Center.
Meetings are held every Thursday in the Senate Chambers of the University Student Union at 5:00 p.m. All students are welcome.
