The AIM Faculty Resource Center is dedicated to supporting and training faculty in delivering accessible instructional materials by providing accessible resources. In compliance with the Assistive Technology Initiative and ADA Section 508, the AIM Faculty Resource Center is committed to ensuring that course instructional materials are translated or converted into an accessible format for all students regardless of disability. The AIM Faculty Resource Center also uses Universal Design guidelines to encourage accessible methods throughout a student's academic career and foster student success for all learning styles and learning environments. Services provided include:

  • Develop syllabi in accessible formats.
  • Translate faculty PowerPoint presentations and other in-class lecture materials.
  • Translate all pictures, tables and graphics into accessible formats designed for assistive technology.
  • Provide training for faculty on the principles and guidelines of Universal Design in creating accessible instructional materials.
  • Assist faculty with converting inaccessible course materials into accessible formats and uploading newly accessible materials to BeachBoard or online.
  • Provide individualized training to faculty on how to post accessible documents on BeachBoard or online.
  • Assist faculty in printing, scanning, and/or copying course documents needing conversion or translation into an accessible format.
  • Provide individualized support and training for scheduled appointments or drop- in between the hours of 8:00AM - 1:00PM, 2:00PM -5:00PM.

CSULB Staff

The AIM Center works closely with staff to ensure that department resource materials are accessible. Our services include developing accessible fill in forms, as well as translating leaflets, flyers, and other documents distributed to students, staff, or faculty, in hard copy (Braille format), electronically or on the web.
