Internally administered support for research, scholarly, and creative activity (RSCA) is available from 3 sources/programs:
Funding and regulations for MGSS are mandated by the Legislature and the Chancellor's office, while funding and regulations for reassigned time and discretionary initiatives are determined on the campus.

The Chancellor's office has reinstated system-level funding for RSCA and allocated approximately $200,000 for CSULB for the 2015-2016 AY based upon FTES. A specific plan for the criteria for disbursing the funds will be formulated shortly.
2. Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity Reassigned Time for the 2015-2016 Academic Year:
Academic Affairs is pleased to announce plans for the 2015-16 faculty Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities (RSCA) Award. Academic Affairs plans to allocate approximately $1.5 million to support faculty research, scholarly and creative activities.
