Celebration Honors Outstanding Faculty, Students, Staff

I would like to thank everyone who helped make the University Achievement Awards and Celebration of Instruction, Research, Creative Activity and Service a success last week.

I also congratulate the faculty, staff, students and alumna who were recognized for their remarkable achievements. Thank you for the outstanding teaching, scholarship, leadership and service you bring to the campus and our community every day.

In addition, I would like to express my appreciation to the University Research Advisory Committee and the University Awards Committee for their dedication in reviewing applications and selecting the awardees.

More than 130 posters, exhibits and published works were displayed at the event, highlighting the impressive breadth and scope of research and creative work being done by students, faculty and staff. Thanks to everyone who submitted work for display.

Update on Funding for RIMI Faculty Fellows

The Research Infrastructure in Minority Institutions (RIMI) Project recently put out a call for new faculty research fellow applications. We are disappointed to have to notify the CSULB faculty community that we have been notified by the National Institutes of Health that we will not be able to fund any new faculty fellows.

We know that some faculty members may have already worked on proposals. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Open Forums for Vice President of Student Services

Finalists for the Vice President for Student Services position are on campus through next week.

Faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the candidates, attend the open forums and provide feedback about the finalists. Information and a link to submit feedback may be found on the Student Services website.
