Obsolete Policy
The following policy was recommended
by the Academic Senate in its meeting of December 13, 1984 and received
the concurrance of the President on April 30, 1985.
SUBJECT: GENERAL EDUCATION AND GRADUATE CREDIT
No course identified in the Bulletin as available for credit in
a graduate program will be permitted for general education credit.

April 20, 1987 This policy supplement was recommended
by the Academic Senate in its meeting of March 26, 1987, and received
the concurrence of the President on April 20, 1987.
Subject: BASIC SKILLS IN GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES
All courses in the General Education Program must demonstrably encourage
development of skills in critical thinking and/or problem solving,
as well as in written and/or oral communication. Such skills development
must be especially evident in lower division courses in order to
comply with the intention of Executive Order 338.
Effective: Immediately.
