SUBJECT: CHANGE IN RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS

The following policy statement, recommended by the Academic Senate at its meeting of December 15, 1977, and  pproved by the President on January 3, 1978, is as follows:

A minimum of 24 semester units shall be earned in residence in the-University. At least one-half of these units shall be completed among the last twenty semester units counted toward the degree. This requirement may be reduced for active military duty and for attendance at other California State Universities or Colleges. Credit in summer sessions may be substituted for regular session unit requirements on a unit for unit basis. Extension credit or credit by examination may not be used to fulfill the minimum resident requirement. A  minimum of twelve units in the major must be taken at CSULB.
