The German program develops the student's language skills and knowledge of literature, history, and current affairs in German-speaking countries, as well as cultural literacy, all of which play an important role for study abroad and employment in a variety of careers. In cooperation with the College of Engineering, the German Program promotes a double major of German and Engineering. In addition, the Program offers a BA in German Studies with a concentration/certificate in the Administration of Travel and Tourism. German Studies maintains exchange programs with the University of Bielefeld, Essen, and Oldenburg as well as Freiburg (Switzerland) and Salzburg (Austria), and all of the universities in Bader-Württemberg. German students are also eligible to participate in the German-American Business Student Workshop with the Polytechic University Hamburg, Germany.
