Jing is a free software that allows you to capture your desktop environment: to snap a picture of your screen, record a video (up to 5 minutes long) of your onscreen action and share instantly over the web, instant messenger or email.
Jing video's can be used to capture the entire desktop, a specific window, or a specific predefined area. The videos will be saved as flash video (.swf). If you have a microphone, Jing can record your commentary at the same time. Jing can also do tricks like put HTML embed code onto your clipboard or upload to an FTP server.
Jing can automatically share your images and videos through Screencast.com or Flickr, Jing even places a link to your clipboard to make sharing easier. Simply paste (CTRL-V or Command-V) the link into an instant messenger chat, email, forum post, Twitter, or anywhere. Jing also has an editor where you can add arrows, text, frames or highlight things in your images.
