Import Course Content to Summer BeachBoard

Before importing your course content from BeachBoard to Summer BeachBoard, please note that some components DO NOT export and will need to be re-created in the Summer BeachBoard.

To import your course content from BeachBoard to Summer BeachBoard, follow the steps below.

First, you need to export your course content from BeachBoard.

  1. Log on to BeachBoard at https://bbcsulb.desire2learn.com/ with your campus ID and BeachID password.
  2. Click the desired course from the "My Courses" widget.
  3. Click the Edit Course button from the course's navigation bar.
  4. Scroll down and click on the Import/Export/Copy Course Components link.
  5. Select Export Components (make sure there is a check mark next to Include course files in the export package).
  6. Click the Next button.
  7. We highly recommend you check the box next to Select All Components to avoid any broken links.
  8. Scroll down and click the Next button.
  9. In the confirmation, scroll down and click the Next button.
  10. Your course materials will begin exporting.
  11. Once you see all green check marks next to the course components, scroll down and click on the Done button.
  12. Click the link that reads “Click here to download the export Zip package.” This will prompt you to save the zip file.
  13. Save the zip file to your computer.

Next, you need to import your course content to Summer BeachBoard.

  1. Log on the Summer BeachBoard at https://bbcsulbsummer.desire2learn.com/ with your Campus ID and BeachID password.
  2. Click the desired course from the "My Courses" widget.
  3. Click the Edit Course button from the course's navigation bar.
  4. Scroll down and click on the Import/Export/Copy Course Components link.
  5. Select Import Components.
  6. Click the Browse button and find and select the zip file you just saved to your computer.
  7. Click the Next button.
  8. Your course will begin to preprocess.
  9. Once you see the green check mark next to Reading the Package, click the Next button.
  10. Select all Components to avoid any broken links.
  11. Click the Next button.
  12. In the Confirmation, scroll down and click the Next button.
  13. Your course will begin importing.
  14. Once the importing process is complete, click the Next button.
  15. Your summer course should now be populated with your course material. Confirm the import by clicking on the various components that were initially selected to ensure that they are functioning properly.
