The license requires division, department or college technologists to install Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows, on university-owned workstations. Contact your division, department or college technologist for assistance. |

Faculty and staff may purchase Office 2010 for Windows from the University Computer Store for when using personally owned computers used primarily for university business. Students may purchase the product from the University Computer Store. |
Computers running Windows XP must have Service Pack 3 to use Office 2010. Use the manual activation process for these machines. Computers running Windows 7 activate automatically.
Volume Activation 2.0 (VA2) is a new volume license activation requirement for Microsoft products, including Microsoft Office 2010. It requires activation of each Microsoft Office 2010 license acquired under a Volume License agreement. VA2 is designed to help increase protection and to help better manage the Volume License keys in managed and non-managed environments as well as provide flexible deployment options. The process has varying levels of transparency for end users, and the VA2 solution works in a variety of environments. VA2 provides the campus with two types of keys and three methods of activation.
