Multi-Generations of Percussionists at Dave Gerhart’s Faculty Recital

Nathan Stark in The Poe Project

Alumnus Nathan Stark will be singing with The Poe Project – Buried Alive & Embedded at North Dakota State University: Festival Concert Hall in Fargo in March.

Buried Alive (by composer Jeff Myers and librettistQuincy Long) and Embedded by composer Patrick Soluri and librettist Deborah Brevoort) were commissioned by American Lyric Theater in New York City in honor of the Poe Centennial in 2009. Rather than adapting Poe’s stories, to the stage, the writers were challenged with “What might Poe write if he were alive today?.”

Torres-Santos in Puerto Rico Jazz Jam

Dr. Raymond Torres-Santos performed his most recent CD, “Antillano,” as part of the Puerto Rico Jazz Jam. His jazz quintet and special guests appeared at the historic Tapia Theater at Old San Juan on January 24. The CD is available in iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon.com.

Eric Graham Named Educator of the Year

Alumnus Eric Graham was honored as a California League of High Schools Educator of the Year for Region 11 (Orange County).The nomination came from his principal, school administration as well as his department chair at Marina High School where Eric is Director of Choirs.
