Yi Chen to Perform at 2013 Hong Kong Saxophone Symposium

Alumnus Yi Chen has been accepted to the  2013 Hong Kong Saxophone Symposium (HKISS) He will be in Hong Kong in mid-July.

HKISS is an international saxophone event initiated by Dr. Kenneth Tse aiming to provide a gathering of professionals, amateurs, students and enthusiasts who would like to learn more about saxophone performance, pedagogy and other aspects through interacting with internationally renowned artists. Tse is currently Professor of Saxophone at the University of Iowa, President-Elect of the North American Saxophone Alliance, and serving his second term as Vice-President of the International Saxophone Committee.

Yi will begin his DMA in saxophone performance at the University of Iowa starting Fall 2013. He will study with Dr. Kenneth Tse and has been offered a TA position in the Jazz Studies Department there.
