Stephen Anastasia signs contract with LA Opera

Stephen AnastasiaAlumnus Stephen Anastasia has been hired as a lecturer at Cal Poly Pomona, teaching Voice and Voice Class starting Fall ’12. He also received his first contract as a chorister with LA Opera. He will be singing “Der fliegende Holländer” with them in March.

After completing his BM at CSULB, Stephen earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance at UC Irvine. He has performed with Opera Pacific and was a featured alumnus with the UCI Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Stephen Tucker as Marcello in Act III of La Bohème and in the title role of Gianni Schicchi.

Stephen’s solo concert credits include Messiah with the Long Beach Camerata Singers & Orchestra and Carmina Burana with the Inland Valley Sympony & Temecula Valley Master ChoraleMr. Anastasia has also performed as a soloist with Downtown Opera (a subsidiary of Long Beach Opera), Center Stage Opera, the Music Companie of Hollywood, A Little Dickens, ASCAP Music Theater Workshop, The Verdi Chorus, Chorale Bel Canto and with the Accademia San Felice, Tuscany Amadeus Festival in Florence, Italy.
