Joseph Stone is a full-time freelance oboist/woodwind doubler active in the Los Angeles area where he regularly performs on oboe, flute, clarinet, saxophone and recorders. As a studio player he has performed on the latest albums for Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, and Barry Manilow. He has played on movie scores of Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission Impossible 3, Speed Racer) Mark Watters and J.A.C. Redford (Winnie the Pooh Learning Adventures), Bruce Broughton (Bambi 2), Dave Kitay (Bad Santa), Harald Klose (The Day after Tomorrow), Nathan Wang (She’s the Man), and Phil Marshall (Disney Channel movies). He is Principal Oboe in the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, Long Beach Municipal Band, Long Beach Opera, a member of the Long Beach Symphony, and toured Japan in 2008 for a month with the Percy Faith Orchestra. Mr. Stone has taught applied music at El Camino and Cerritos Junior Colleges, Occidental College, and Vanguard University. He is currently a member of the adjunct music faculty at CSU Long Beach and Whittier College.
