Perry La Marca, Film Scoring instructor here at CSULB, is  an active film and television composer, orchestrator, songwriter and music producer.  A graduate of "The Beach," his early mentors also include film composers John Williams, Bruce Broughton, and jazz pianist Paul Smith.

Perry’s credits include everything from feature film scores (e.g., Commander And Chief, Big Game, The Morgue) to programmatic music (e.g., The America's Cup) to numerous radio and television commercials.  He has also composed additional music for films such as Balto 3, Beethoven's 5th, and television shows such as Disney's The Buzz On Maggie and American Dragon.

Perry’s teaching style centers around a contemporary and practical approach to film composition utilizing the latest software and hardware in a state-of-the-art film scoring studio.  He actively coordinates projects with film makers from the Film and Electronic Arts department providing students with "real-world" experiences writing for picture and also through interfacing with directors and producers.
