Loren Marsteller was formerly principal trombone with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in Alberta, Canada, and solo euphonium with the Unites States Marine Corps Band, The President’s Own, in Washington, D.C. He holds a master’s degree in trombone performance and counts as his teachers his father, Robert Marsteller, and Keith Brown. He has played principal trombone with the American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Vancouver Symphony, and every regional orchestra in Southern California.

Mr. Marsteller has recorded on Golden Crest, Crystal, Avant, Capiton and A & M labels. He has a reputation for finding and playing unusual brass-wind instruments such as Alpen-horns and Tibetan temple-horns (heard as the Vulcan horn call in Star Trek III), Civil War alto horn in the soundtrack of Glory, bass-trumpet, bass-fluegelhorn, ophicleide, and sackbut.
