Graduate Certificate Program

CSULB offers 40 academic programs that lead to the award of a certificate. To review the list of available certificate programs at CSULB please visit the current University catalog on-line.

Certificate programs usually require completion of 24 to 27 units of coursework and emphasize the practical application of knowledge. Courses taken to fulfill the requirements for the Bachelor's degree may be applied to a certificate program. If you choose to pursue a Master's degree, however, only 15 units of graduate coursework may be applied to a certificate program.

Certificates must be earned either concurrently while pursuing a Bachelor's degree or immediately following the award of a Bachelor's degree. The award of a certificate will be noted on your transcript but not on your diploma.  Certificates are issued separately from your diploma.

For more information about a specific certificate program visit the appropriate department.
