Roxane Fenton received her Ph.D. in Dance History and Theory from the University of California, Riverside. Her dissertation examined figure skating in American media and popular culture. Forthcoming publications with Dr. Colleen Dunagan include "Dirty Dancing: Dance, Class, and Race in the Pursuit of Womanhood" and "The Beatles, the Moving Image, and Dancing Bodies". Dr. Fenton has a B.A. in history, German and humanities from Dana College and a B.A. in dance from the University of Minnesota. She also teaches at Santa Ana College and has taught at the University of California, Riverside, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Fenton is a modern dancer, improviser, and contact improviser. She teaches or has taught Viewing Dance, Introduction to Dance, Improvisation, and dance history.
