Liz Curtis received her B.A. in Dance from CSULB, and is currently a second year M.F.A. Dance student (Joan Schlaich Scholarship - 2012). Her thesis work focuses on training dancers for performance by using improvisation and meditation in the creative process. This is her second semester of teaching Beginning Ballet at CSULB. Aside from teaching for CSULB, she has taught Latin Ballroom, Standard Ballroom, Improvisation, and Composition as an adjunct faculty member at Glendale Community College, as well as served as director and instructor at Caballero Dance in Atwater Village, CA for six years. Before crossing over to concert dance, she worked professionally in commercial dance performing at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Carnival Cruise Lines (soloist), the grand opening ceremony for the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, and multiple international tours before returning to her native Los Angeles to work in film and television. She can be seen in such shows as Clueless, Everybody Loves Raymond, Beverly Hills 90210, Sabrina the Teenage Witch as well as the featured swing dancer in a Cherry Poppin' Daddies music video. In addition to dance, she is a graduate of The Sanford Meisner Center in North Hollywood as well as a certified Pilates Instructor with Dance Specialization through BASI.
