The College of the Arts (COTA) community of faculty, staff, students and alumni shares a commitment to student success crafted by programs of academic and artistic rigor. Our students graduate prepared to be vital contributors to the world’s roster of 21st century artists, scholars, educators and creative thinkers. This is accomplished by:
- Acknowledging and rewarding the dedicated and innovative teaching that is the hallmark of our faculty
- Developing the individual gifts and unique voice of each student artist
- Teaching students to respect, honor and explore artistic and cultural traditions
- Fostering opportunities for international and interdisciplinary collaborative experiences
- Exposing our students, the campus community and our Southern California neighbors to the work of world class performers, scholars and visual artists
- Maintaining close ties with alumni, and inviting them to share their professional successes, creative experiences and artistic discoveries with our students and faculty
