The Office of Engineering Educational Research and Assessment offers evidence of the effectiveness of those activities provided by the Engineering Student Success Center (ESSC). What we aim to accomplish explicitly guides the development of our comprehensive assessment plan; this assessment plan describes the specific student-centered strategies and approaches that match campus-wide goals for increasing student graduation rates. To determine what sorts of strategies and activities will be employed, key findings, derived from institutional research data, will drive best practices. To ensure that assessment accurately represents the goals of the ESSC, several different metrics, substantiated by sound research, will examine the range of activities provided by the ESSC. To measure student success, both quantitative and qualitative research methods are used.
