Future Girls @ The Beach: Mentoring Program

In order to inspire and motivate more young girls to go into STEM fields, there is a need of a mentoring program to build confidence and engage girls beginning in middle and high school. As a result, the College of Engineering at California State University, Long Beach is collaborating with local schools to provide this opportunity.

There are many benefits to participating in the Future Girls @ The Beach Mentoring Program, such as:

  • Being mentored by CSULB female engineering students and faculty
  • Exposure to various engineering careers
  • Priority to joing the honors program
  • Priority of receiving scholarships and internships

The Future Girls @ The Beach Mentoring Program is open solely to current 8th, 9th, and 10th graders who have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. To continue to be eligible, students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.

To apply, the following documents need to be submitted and received by:JUNE 27, 2014

  • Complete application for the Future Girls @ The Beach Mentoring Program
  • Official Transcripts
  • SBAC/STAR Report
  • Recommendation Letter from a Counselor/Teacher
