MSP is a pre-college program within the College of Engineering (under contract with the University of California) that serves educationally disadvantaged students and, to the extent possible by law, emphasizes participation by students from groups with low rates of eligibility for four-year colleges. MSP provides a pipeline of academic services from elementary through university level to increase the number of students who graduate with degrees in math, science, and engineering. The MSP program serves its students with innovative academic, college and career counseling and hands-on science programs, which are great opportunities to compete, show off and meet new friends. The program receives funding from the State of California, School Districts and also receives program donations from private industry.
The CSULB MSP center provides academic support services to over one thousand pre-college students annually. The current service area includes the following five school districts and schools:
