Aerospace Engineering graduate student David Lee won the 2012 CSULB graduate student research award in the Engineering & Computer Science category, for his research work on the use of advanced Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC).
David's research focuses on applications of CMC in rocket propulsion. Ceramic matrix composite (CMC) is an advanced material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 2200°C without weakening, making it an interesting area of research. Dr. Eric Besnard supervised David's research.
David will be representing CSULB in the state wide competition in May 2012.
