Dr. Parentela is a professor of civil engineering. She teaches classes related to transportation and traffic planning/engineering. Her research interests include transportation safety, transportation modeling, geographic information systems-based modeling, and transportation risk assessment. Prior to joining CSULB, she worked as a transportation researcher, and as a geotechnical engineer involved on various projects such as port development, communication towers, dams, roads and buildings.
