The James Stephenson Scholarship will award two $2,500 undergraduate scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to science majors with a verified learning disability on file at DSS and demonstrated financial need. The intent of the scholarship is to assist talented students who have the added challenge of overcoming learning and financial disadvantages.
James Stephenson is an alumnus with a B.A. in Biology (1964) who suffered from a learning disability himself, and would never have achieved the success he has (from pharmaceutical sales to founding an insurance brokerage firm) without the help and support of his instructors at CSULB.
Applications are due Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the CSULB Center for Scholarship Information, University Student Union, Room 238.
Support for successive years is possible. If applying for Scholarship renewal, download Stephenson Scholarship Renewal Application.
Selection will be made by a faculty committee convened by the Dean.
