What is a Peer Mentor?

Jensen SAS Peer Mentors are upper-division science and math students who volunteer to assist first-year freshmen during their academic and social transition to life at CSULB as part of the Science & Math Enrichment Program. Peer Mentors share their experiences as CSULB students, give direction, encourage student success, and serve as Peer Tutors. As a peer mentor, students have the opportunity to give back to their campus community, improve leadership skills, develop facilitation abilities, help foster a successful learning environment, and pass on a legacy of altruism.
