Dr. Sander comes to CSULB with a broad range of work experiences rooted in the community practice arena. She has held positions as an advocate, manager, community organizer, program planner and developer, training specialist, and evaluator. At the University of Maryland School of Social Work she held positions as a Faculty Field Instructor, Field Liaison, and Research Director for the outreach service field unit. She has taught courses in social work practice and qualitative cross-cultural research. Rebecca ("Becki") has a strong interest in social work education, organizational and community capacity building, leadership development, and critical race theory. She serves on the board of the Association for Community Organization and Social Administration (ACOSA) and the professional advisory council of By Your Side.
