Dr. Kristina Lopez recently joined the School of Social Work faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in the Fall 2013. Dr. Lopez is an expert in Latino children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. She has practiced with children and youth with ASD and provided parent education to parents raising children with ASD. Her research interests include family burden of autism, the development and implementation of culturally informed autism intervention for Latino families, and ecological and socio-cultural perspectives of Latinos raising children with ASD. Dr. Lopez is a faculty advisor for the Latino Student Social Work Network (LSSWN) at CSULB. She currently teaches Social Work Practice with Groups and supervises Thesis projects.
