Biographical Information

Cheryl D. Lee has been a faculty member at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) since 2000, teaching graduate and undergraduate social work courses. She is Chair of the School’s Curriculum Committee, and her teaching expertise includes: Human Behavior in the Multi-Cultural/ Social Environment Across the Life Span, Social Group Work, and Thesis Research. Her scholarship agenda and publications include: mentoring, social group work practice, mental health, child welfare, and policy and practice research to improve the well-being of at risk populations. She is a member of the University’s Enrollment Planning Committee, a Partners for Success Mentor, and Chair of the California Chapter of the international Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups (AASWG). She is a member of AASWG’s international board of directors and chaired its 2011 International Symposium for AASWG aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Currently she has a grant to study mentoring of first generation college students She is the editor of the Long Beach AASWG Symposium Scholarly Proceedings, a book which will include papers from noted social group work scholars.
