The following information provides specific details about these programs.
Students admitted to the 2-Year or 3-Year MSW program must complete 60 semester units of coursework. In addition, each student must complete two fieldwork placements. Each placement involves 500 hours of fieldwork, with a total of 1000 hours completed to fulfill degree requirements. Students complete 16 hours of field placement each week between the months of September and May. Field hours are completed through either two 8-hour weekdays, or one 8-hour weekday & two 4-hour weekday periods.
The following information specifies the differences between the 2-Year and 3-Year programs:
Students admitted to the Advanced Standing MSW program are required to complete a series of Summer Bridge course modules in their first summer. After successful completion of the modules, the School waives the foundation courses (30 units) and students then complete the concentration courses (30 units) over two (2) semesters (Fall/Spring). Students attend classes on Mondays and Fridays during the day and complete one fieldwork placement for a total of 660 hours.
