American Physical Therapy Association
The American Physical Therapy Association is a national, professional organization representing more than 70,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students. APTA's goal is to foster advancement in physical therapy practice, education, and research.

California Chapter American Physical Therapy Association
The California Chapter, American Physical Therapy Association is a Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, which represents more than 75,000 physical therapists and physical therapist assistants nationwide. Your membership dues include membership in APTA, CCAPTA and your local district. It is important for you both professionally and personally to become involved in the activities of the California Chapter. Staying informed on legislative issues, new and innovative research, continuing education courses or taking advantage of membership benefits is the best investment you can make in your career.

California Chapter Private Practice Special Interest Group
CPPSIG was formed to provide its members with the leadership and support necessary to deliver a level of clinical practice consistent with the state of the art physical therapy practice, consumer demand, legal constraints, APTA and California constraints.

History of Science, Technology, and Medicine
The WWWVL for the history of science, technology and medicine was established on 6 September 1994 to keep track of information facilities in the field of the history of science, technology and medicine.

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center
Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC) is the second largest private hospital on the west coast. Now in its 90th year, LBMMC is nationally recognized for excellence in health care. The State of California rates LBMMC among the safest hospitals for having a baby as well as for surviving a heart attack. Self Magazine recently named Memorial Breast Center America's best. Good Housekeeping magazine listed six of the physicians as best in the US for women's health. And US News and World Report ranks Long Beach Memorial among the nation's best in seven clinical categories. Long Beach Memorial Medical Center also serves as a clinical educational site for the CSU Long Beach Physical Therapy Program.

National Osteoporosis Foundation
Educating health professionals in many disciplines is fundamental to ensuring that patients receive the highest quality osteoporosis care. NOF's professional relations and education programs target physicians, nurses, physical therapists and other health professionals through programs which include the development and dissemination of clinical practice guidelines, health professional curricula and materials, a clinical newsletter, national and international research and clinical conferences and symposia. NOF is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

NSCA Certification Commission
In 1985, the certification body of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) was established in order to create a certification program for those in the field of strength training and conditioning. This certifying body later became known as the NSCA Certification Commission. The CSCS certification was created in 1985, and was followed by the NSCA-CPT certification in 1993. Today, over 11,000 people hold the prestigious CSCS and NSCA-CPT certifications.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides access to over 11 million citations in MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, and other related databases, with links to participating online journals.
