RISK MANAGEMENT BY INTERNAL AUDITING

(Formerly titled the Auditing Police Performance Course)

This is a 24 hour, hands-on, course intended for police managers and interested city/county staff that want to identify significant performance issues before they become damage control nightmares.  Our goal is to work with you to minimize the possibility of that happening.  Set the right standards, train the right people the right way and integrate the right policies, procedures and review structures. This course is the roadmap to do just that.  Each participant will learn:

  • The five red flags of poor police performance
  • The four elements of police culture that drive outcomes
  • The three things you can do now to improve morale, protect jobs and build trust with the community
  • How to identify and assess which behaviors hurt your agency
  • How to identify agency culture and its impact on performance and reputation
  • How to develop an audit scope, methodology and recommendations
  • How to write a compelling audit document with strategic direction and hope

The instructor, Mark Wittenberg, is a veteran police manager and auditor with more than two decades of experience working with police management, audits and professional standards. Upon completion, attendees will have the tools and the confidence to assess key performance areas and develop recommendations that have long term impact.
