HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Needs Assessment

This project was a needs assessment of HIV/AIDS prevention and care to identify the HIV care and treatment needs of diverse populations in the City of Long Beach and Service Planning Area (SPA) 8. For this project we worked collaboratively with the Long Beach Comprehensive HIV Planning Group, SPA 8 SPN, and the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services to update the epidemiology section of the 2003 needs assessment, interview approximately 250 respondents using the survey instrument developed for the 2003 needs assessment, and conduct several focus groups A comprehensive report was prepared describing successful service delivery models used to provide services to individuals in the priority populations and recommendations as to how the collaborating groups and the community can reduce barriers to care and treament, and respond to changing circumstances.
