Two College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Fashion Merchandising and Design (FMD) students’ designs have been selected as entries into the Pink Ribbon Crusade’s Royal Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held on the Queen Mary in February 2013.  FMD major Terresa Pritchett won an entry into the show, and FMD major Emma Hancock was selected as a runner-up.   Both Terresa and Emma have been asked to construct their garments for the fashion show.

CHHS Fashion Merchandising and Design program students were invited by the Pink Ribbon Crusade, Queen Mary and City of Hope to design, create, and display concepts for a “Pink Ribbon Dress” on the ship during the month of October- Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Six FMD students’ designs were selected for display in the Queen Mary Princess Diana exhibit during the month of October. Their garment concepts were used to draw attention to Princess Diana’s generosity and support of breast cancer initiatives while showcasing fashion students’ work during the Princess Diana exhibition being held concurrently on the Queen Mary.

Congratulations and best wishes to Terresa and Emma.   Their designs attest to the talent and caliber of the Fashion Merchandising Design program.  More designs from our outstanding students can be seen at the 25th Annual Campus Couture Fashion Show on Friday, May 10, 2013.    The event is a major representation of the Fashion Merchandising and Design program, featuring work by the talented FMD junior and senior designers.  For more information on the Campus Couture Fashion Show, check the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences for regular updates.
