2014 HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES: COLLEGE OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES TO HOST BOOTH ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15

Dean Kenneth I. Millar invites all alumni of the College and Health & Human Services (CHHS) to join him, faculty, staff and current students at this year’s 2014 Homecoming Festivities on Saturday, November 15th.  This year’s theme is “Life is a Highway” and festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. in Parking Lot no. 13 directly in front of The Walter Pyramid.

According to Associate Prof. Tracy F. Tolbert, faculty Homecoming coordinator for the College, “This is a great event, and one in which we, the College of Health and Human Services, can be proud. We have increased the number of schools and departments representing the college, and we expect a massive turn out from our students and student organizations.”

On Homecoming day, Dean Millar will be on hand to greet the College’s alumni and friends at the CHHS booth beginning at 11:30 am. This year’s event highlights include a Fashion Show at 1:30 pm, featuring students of the Fashion, Merchandising and Design program.  It is a precursor to the annual “Campus Couture” fashion show held next spring in the CSULB Carpenter Center which is one of the largest university student-run events in the country.  In addition an EMT Ambulance will be parked next to the CHHS Booth to demonstrate the emergency medical care program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Other participants from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies will showcase a “Parks Make Life Better” display in the area of the CHHS Booth. The CHHS Booth will also be host to the following departments and schools: Speech Language Pathology, Nursing, and ROTC. And finally, the LifeFit Center@TheBeach will be open throughout the day.  The Department of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Emergency Management will once again host the very popular Crime Scene Investigation workshop and demonstration.  The CSI@CSULB, will take place in HSC1-101 from 12-1pm. Several members of the Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) will be on hand as well to serve as Event Volunteers.

We look forward to seeing members of the 49er Family this weekend.  Go Beach!
