Saturday MBA

sustain

The Saturday MBA Program offers an efficient program structure that, by taking two courses at a time on Saturdays (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), the entire 48-unit program will be completed in 23 months. In the first portion of the program, participants will learn and reinforce key functional concepts and develop critical thinking skills through a set of discipline-based courses. The second part of the program focuses on Sustainability and the Business Organization where the students bring their foundational knowledge and apply it to multi-functional problems that businesses face in terms of sustainability. Please see here for an article in the Long Beach Business Journal about the Sustainability Focus of the program.

As part of the program, the students spend a week abroad to learn what businesses in other countries and regions of the world are doing to comply with national and international sustainability regulations, and to sustain their community while remaining economically viable.  The students focus on the region’s markets, consumers, institutions, and legal structure in the sustainability framework.

The Saturday MBA is designed for students with at least 3 years work experience. According to the policy established by the Graduate Programs Committee (GPC), applicants to the Saturday MBA program may waive the GMAT/GRE test requirement if they can demonstrate seven years or more of significant managerial work experience.

Students participate in a three-day orientation at a downtown Long Beach luxury hotel that features team building and case study exercises, as well as activities designed to introduce students to the program and to the services of the university.

New Saturday MBA cohorts begin every August. Applications are accepted October 1-June 1.
