Transfer Credit; Withdrawal, Late Registration, Course Substitution, & Directed Study Petitions
Transfer Credit
- Go to the Advising Center, CBA 100 [Phone: (562) 985-4514].
- To determine if a course taken at another college or university meets a lower division course requirement for the business major, pick-up a "Transfer Credit Articulation Grid."
Withdrawal/Drop Request
- Download the Withdrawal Petition form from Enrollment Services (PDF).
- Complete the form, following all instructions.
- Obtain the instructor's signature and the Department of Marketing Chair's signature.
- Return forms to Brotman Hall 101.
Late Registration Request
- Download the Late Registration Request form.
- Complete the form, following all instructions.
- Obtain all required signatures.
- Present the form, in person, to Enrollment Services, Brotman Hall 101 before the registration deadline.
Course Petition or Substitution [Upper Division Major Courses]
Marketing Majors
- Go to the Advising Center, CBA 100.
- Get the "Petition for Substitution" form from the Advising Center, CBA 100.
- Fill out the form and return it to the Advising Center, CBA 100.
- The Advising Center will forward the form to the Department of Marketing, CBA 354, for signature approval by the Chair.
- The Department of Marketing will then return the form back to the Advising Center.
Marketing Minors
- Submit written request by emailing the Department of Marketing Coordinator, Raquel Porter, Raquel.Porter@csulb.edu. Include the following information: Student ID#, Original Course Taken, and Course Substituted.
- Upon receipt of the request for substitution, the Department of Marketing Coordinator will forward the request to Advising Center, CBA 100.
- The Advising Center will then forward the approved request to Enrollment Services.
Independent/Directed Studies
- Get the "Agreement for Independent Study Course" form from the Department of Marketing, CBA 354, or you can download it (Undergraduate, Graduate).
- Find a Marketing Faculty member who would be interested in working with you.
- Get the Faculty member's signature.
- Return the form to the Department of Marketing, CBA 354, and obtain your own copy of the agreement.
NOTES:
If the student is a Marketing major and he/she wants to substitute a MKTG497 for a course required for his/her option, he/she needs to file a "Petition for Substitution". These are handled the same way as the other petitions for majors.
Registration for MKTG497 is limited to "Permission of Department". Therefore, before a student can enroll via MyCSULB, the Department of Marketing Coordinator needs to contact the Advising Center so they can "authorize" the student.
