SMIF Students Take First Place

In one of the most crowded fields ever, our Student Managed Investment Funds (SMIF) team took first place at the CFA Society of Orange County Foundation's Request for Proposal competition on November 22. As a result, SMIF will manage a portion of CFAOCF’s portfolio for another year. In achieving this victory, our students outperformed students from three other local universities: University of California, Irvine (2nd place), Chapman University (3rd place), California State University, Fullerton (4th place).

These universities all have programs with significantly higher funding than SMIF, but the SMIF victory attests to the very high caliber of our program, in terms of the dedication and ability of our SMIF students. Please join me in congratulating Peter Ammermann and the SMIF team on this achievement.
