SPRING 2010 ASSOCIATION OF EMERITI LUNCHEON

Friday, April 9
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Residential Life College

Join the Association of Emeriti for its upcoming luncheon, reconnect with your fellow colleagues and learn about the new and exciting things that are happening at CSULB. The Oct. 30, 2009 luncheon had a record attendance, with approximately 70 faculty and staff emeriti. Guest speaker David Carlberg, professor emeritus of biological sciences, shared details of his experiences and knowledge about one of our most popular local areas, the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. The presentation was based on his recently completed fifth book, Bolsa Chica: Its History from Prehistoric Times to the Present and What Citizen Involvement and Preservation Can Achieve. In addition, Chris Lowe, professor of biological sciences, and graduate student Carrie Espasandin shared their expertise and information about the experimental projects they are conducting for the wetland restoration project in Huntington Beach. They showed how CSULB continues to work in partnership with local communities. For any questions about upcoming luncheons, contact Leticia Lozoya at 562-985-2539 or llozoya@csulb.edu.
