Student Spotlight

Andee Gonzalez, first generation bilingual student in English and Spanish, will complete her business bachelor's degree in May 2024. Andee has majored in Information Systems while pursuing Finance research since joining CSULB as a freshman student in 2020.  Andee Gonzalez joined the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program in 2020 because of her interest in doing bilingual fintech research with Dr. Laura Gonzalez. Dr Gonzalez serves as President of the Southwestern Finance Association besides multiple journal editorial boards.

Following her multi-year experience in UROP and the Honors Program, Andee Gonzalez also pursued McNair and Sally Casanova programs in preparation for doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr. Laura Gonzalez. In the Summer of 2024, Andee Gonzalez will be conducting research in University of Southern California. 

Accomplishments 

Andee Gonzalez has presented research in six different venues, including the National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and has been awarded over $60,000 to support her research studies in CSULB. While pursuing the University Honors and multiple research programs, Andee Gonzalez also served as a peer advisor in the Office of Undergraduate Research for two years,  as NCAA Student-Athlete, Tutor for two years, as an Honors Student Representative for four years, and as Vice President of Leadership and Development in the CSULB Resident Hall Association.  Andee Gonzalez also has professional experience in JP Morgan and Citibank.
